The family and I just come back from a trip away from Brisbane, we usually try to see some of the country most holidays, this time we headed out to west Queensland and took the drive from Brisbane to Dalby.
Dalby was our first stop on the trip and is closer than most people think to Brisbane.
There are two ways you can get from Brisbane to Dalby so it depends on where you live in Brisbane and then you can choose the best travel route for you.
Or you maybe landing at Brisbane Airport, picking up your hire car and thinking which is the best way to get from Brisbane to Dalby from there.
We live on the North side of Brisbane, so for us the best way was to head further up north and across through Woodford, Kilcoy etc.
This was a great road to travel on and certainly took in many sights on the way.
With a few pit stops as we have children it took a little over three hours, so about three and a half hours to get from Brisbane to Dalby this way.
According to Google Maps it would of taken us at least three and a half hours and more without breaks if we had of headed off the Toowoomba way, so back into Brisbane City and then out to Toowoomba to Dalby.
If you live in Brisbane City, Brisbane Southside, or out west of Brisbane it will be a better and quicker way to drive from Brisbane to Dalby through Toowoomba.
If you were at Brisbane Airport, the Toowoomba way would be the best option for you as well.
So the road from Brisbane to Dalby from the North side of Brisbane is a good one, not too many potholes, not too many caravans or trucks and certainly plenty of great Queensland scenery to look at as well.
So no matter where you live in Brisbane I’d allow about three and a half hours at least to travel from Brisbane to Dalby.
This will ensure you have a safe trip and can enjoy the drive without getting a speeding ticket.
