The Brisbane to Rockhampton drive time, I will find out today as I am leaving to travel soon.
I drive the car from Brisbane to Rockhampton about every three months at the moment and it is not a bad drive.
Generally it should take around the six and a half hour to seven hour mark as it is about 650km to Rockhampton from here if you take all the main roads.
But I know from past experiences there is alot of road works on the way, plenty of lollipop men to stop and start you and drive you crazy.
I’ll let you know how I go, drive safe.
Update on the drive from Brisbane to Rockhampton ::
The drive from Brisbane to Rockhampton ended up taking around the eight hour mark, I live on the Northside of Brisbane so allow a bit more time if travelling from Brisbane city or from Brisbane Southside.
There were plenty of road works at the latter part of the trip with many 10 minute waits in front of lollipop men.
Other than this a great morning to travel, a bit brisk with a temperature of 8 when I left and 5 to 6 degrees in Gympie on the way through.
I stopped for fuel and prices are sky high at the moment, it was almost the price of a full tank for half a tank of petrol with the price of petrol being $1.66 a litre at the bowser.
The roadworks from memory have been running now for about five years, the pieces of road they have completed are brilliant and have made a difference to the drive.
hopefully the roadworks will be completed sooner than later.
It was a beautiful day here in Rockhampton too, there is a lot going on at the moment and the town is packed, I was told there is 5000 American soldiers here carrying out drills at one of the beaches and also there is a few other things happening too to bring people into the area.
