It’s Brisbane to Rockhampton drive time for me so I will find out for you how long it takes as I am leaving to travel there soon.
I drive my car from Brisbane to Rockhampton about every three months at the moment and it’s not a bad drive at all.
It should take around the six and a half hour to seven hour mark to get there as it is about 650km to Rockhampton from Brisbane if you drive there using all the main roads.
But I know from past experiences there is alot of road works on the way, plenty of lollipop men to stop and start you and drive you crazy.
I’ll let you know how I go below, remember, drive safe.
Update – Drive from Brisbane to Rockhampton
The drive from Brisbane to Rockhampton ended up taking me around the eight hour mark int he end.
I live on the Northside of Brisbane currently, so allow a bit more time if travelling from Brisbane City or starting your drive to Rockhampton from Brisbane’s Southside.
There were plenty of road works at the latter part of the trip with about 10 minute waits in front of the infamous lollipop men.
Also there were a few of the times traffic lights as well, so keep an eye out for these too.
Other than this a great morning to travel, a bit brisk with a temperature of 8 when I left and 5 to 6 degrees in Gympie on the way through.
I stopped for fuel and prices are sky high at the moment, it was almost the price of a full tank for half a tank of petrol!
The roadworks from memory have been running now for about five or more years and the pieces of road that they have completed so far are brilliant and definitely have made a difference to the drive.
Hopefully all the roadworks will be completed sooner than later and it will be a smooth run up to Rockhampton.
So that’s about it for information about the drive and also the time it takes to drive from Brisbane to Rockhampton.
Drive safe, keep an eye out for trucks and caravans and make sure you come back here to read about my latest travels with my family.
