Can I use Caffeine for Weightloss?
Caffeine has many uses in your body and is found in many fat burning supplements, foods and liquids in our diets, but can it help you in achieving your goals in weightloss, that is the million dollar question.
The answer is yes, it does have its place, but you have to watch your intake as well as to much can end up hindering your weightloss or you can end up having a bit of yo yo’ing happening.
Also be aware the aim of losing weight is just not a 5 minute easy process if you have been putting on weight over a period of years, it takes time to lose too, if you want to lose it for a lifetime, you need to change your lifestyle slowly and surely over a period of time.
Caffeine is mostly found in many beverages, including coffee, tea, energy drinks, fizzy drinks and in products that contain cocoa or chocolate, also in many medications and in many weightloss dietary weightloss and pre training supplements.
Caffeine has many ways to help you with weightloss, these include;
- Appetite Suppression, help get rid of your cravings and help you with over eating
- Calorie Burning, stimulating your metabolism, heating up your body and heart rate to burn more calories through the day.
- Water Loss, caffeine has a mild diuretic effect on your body, you go to the toilet a little more, this isn’t fat loss though, just waterloss
- Energy, you generally get an energy burst with caffeine, how long for depends on the type of caffeine or how many milligrams of caffeine you have drunk, taken or eaten
So remember, caffeine in moderation is the key, make sure you check you can use caffeine and just because chocolate contains caffeine, it doesn’t mean you can eat it regularly in your weightloss diet plan.
The best time to use caffeine, I’ve found from personal experience over the years is before training or mid afternoon for energy.
