Hoison sauce is traditionally a Chinese dipping sauce and here you can use it to bring some life to your Chicken in this High Protein Low Carb recipe that is easy to prepare, cook and is full of flavour, I give to you, Hoisin Chicken Stir Fry.
If you want too, you can add in more in regard to amounts or other vegetables in place of what’s listed here below.
This chicken stir fry recipe should take around half an hour or so to prepare depending how well versed you are with a knife and cutting up vege’s.
Ingredients :: Serves roughly 4 people
400gm of chicken breasts, make sure you slice thinly for ease of cooking
1/3 of a cup of hoisin sauce
1/3 of a of cup peanut oil
2 x cloves garlic, sliced and diced
1 x red onion, cut onion into small pieces
100gm of fresh green beans
1 x bok choy, sliced into pieces
1 x red or green capsicum cut up
2 x spring onions, sliced
Steamed rice for 4 people
How to Cook and Serve ::
Place the chicken breast and 2 tablespoons of the hoisin sauce into a bowl and mix them together until the chicken is covered.
Leave it to stand at room temperature forabout 15 minutes to marinate.
Heat 2 x tablespoons of the peanut oil in a frying pan, use a deep pan or maybe a wok over high heat.
Then add the chicken and stir fry until the chicken is a golden brown.
Put the cooked chicken into a plate to sit.
Clean the frying pan or wok ready for part two.
Reheat the frying pan or wok and then add the last of the frying oil.Add garlic then stir fry for 2 minutes or until the garlic is a golden brown also.
Add in the red onion, green beans, bok choy and then the capsicum into the pan or wok, then stir fry for about 2 minutes.
Then finally add in the chicken to pan or wok with spring onions and the last 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce or what ever is left.
Continue to stir fry until the chicken is cooked through and vegetables are starting to get softer.
Serve the hoisin chicken stir fry in bowls with the steamed rice either as a bed or as a separate side dish to add to a main plate.
