You could be forgiven for thinking the Lemon Detox is just seasonal, cut up a few lemons here and there, throw them in a water jug and sip on a glass in the morning.
The Lemon Detox Diet has quite a long history and many people have lost weight on it to boot.
There are also many different products and supplements out now too that are related to the detox diet, this keeps your buying of lemons to a minimum during the detox and also makes it easier too.
The main aim of the Lemon Detox, in layman’s terms, is too help release your body of toxins that have built up over many years of eating rubbish food and other indulgences you may have had, it’s a “body flush out” over a 10 day period to help you to get back to feeling good and healthy, more recently, as your calories are reduced through this 10 day period too, it has been marketed more towards the weightloss market rather than just sitting in the market as a detox product only, I have to say here too that if you do reduce the calories you are eating a day as is laid out in most Lemon Detox Diets just be careful and monitor how you feel every step of the way, losing weight is great, but you want to enjoy the weightloss too, everything in moderation.
Now for a bit of lemon detox history, the original lemon detox was called Master Cleanse which was created in 1940 by Stanley Burroughs, this involved very strict fasting with the diet consisting of having filtered water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup, then there was The Lemonade Diet by Peter Glickman that had the same basic outline too with a lot more information, this come out in 2004, so there is plenty of places to find information on the Master Cleanse, The Lemonade Diet, The Lemon Detox Diet or The Lemon Juice Detox around on the internet, also with varying praises and naysayers too.
The time you stay on the detox is varied depending on whose diet you are following, the popular one today is the 10 day Lemon Detox although there are 7 and 14 day plans, I think this has ended up being the most popular in the modern era as we are all time sparse and looking for a bit more of a quick fix to get where we are going on our weightloss journey, there is nothing wrong with some of the quick fixes around either and a kick start is all that is needed for most to get their weightloss underway and start their journey to their goal, which maybe just to lose a few kg’s or skirt sizes to get into that xmas outfit for the work party.

Simple Lemon Detox Diet ::
Have water with a mix of lemon juice, maple syrup, and a pinch cayenne pepper six to eight times a day for a week.
To make 1 glass of Lemon Detox add :
20ml 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup.
20ml 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice, around half a lemon.
Half a pinch of Cayenne Pepper to taste
Also there are many varieties of the diet in supplement forms and packs throughout Health Stores, Pharmacy’s/Chemists and online, these come in packs and usually a “How to” book etc, they are also evolving too, they are now incorporating a bit more pre and post Lemon Detox information for the consumer, which is a good thing in the long run.
Closing the lid on The Lemon Detox Diet ::
It has been around in many different forms for many, many years and has a lot of people for and against in the community, what it lacks in protein, carbs and fats it makes up for in other areas which includes self control in the eating department, so take it for what it is, try it if you want to and monitor how you feel and remember that weightloss is journey to your goal, many things work differently for many people, I’m a believer in a good cross section of foods in the diet so the Lemon Detox probably doesn’t fit into what I want to achieve, but it may be a great fit for you and the main thing, it is a very simple diet and very cost effective if you are doing it yourself rather than buying it.
