Hello and Welcome to Troy Spro’s Selling and Sales Tips category.
I started my working life as an Apprentice Electrician back in a small town in New Zealand and then I moved over to Australia in the late 90’s to play music with a group of friends that had moved to the Gold Coast in Australia already and also to carry on working as a Sparky here as well.
I fell into a sales role with a company involved in the health food industry late 90’s early 2000’s from memory, this was after wiring lights in the owners garden, we got to talking and the rest was history after that and I was in that first sales role for around ten years.
I found after this first chance meeting I was passionate about sales and sales strategies and have been studying different sales processes in the years I have been involved in different industries.
I am still currently still working in, studying and reading about sales on a day to day basis still just in a different industry to where it all started for me.
The processes of selling are the same and cross over easily in most industries if you are looking for a sea change in your sales career as I did.
I take care of a big area and so planning sales calls, working with existing clients and customer satisfaction takes a big chunk out of my day as well as knowing your products and also knowing the business you work for.
Keeping it fresh and motivating is the key to any long term sales success I feel, this can come from the company you work for on within yourself through attitude.
So here in my Sales and Selling Tips area I hope to put pen to paper so to speak and let you know the things I have learnt or are learning about in the big world of sales.
There certainly is a lot to learn in the sales industry, to learn about yourself, your customer and you company is just the tip of the iceberg and will be a life long learning journey I’m sure.
Where to now?
Just go to the top of the site and where you see the “Sales” category and the drop down menu will have plenty for you to read from there or if you want to start somewhere, here is my “What is Business Ethics in Sales” series.
I hope I can pass on a few tips for you !
