I had to track down a camper trailer cover for our Jayco Hawk Camper Trailer since we moved up into North Queensland.
It is hot up here, the sun is piercing, and as we have down sized a little for moving we only have one garage for the car and the camper trailer has to sit outside.
I have been using a tarp with a few tie downs on each corner.
But that isn’t a long term solution if I want to keep the camper trailer in good condition for us.
That’s why I needed to get a caravan cover for our home away from home.
Now, as you can imagine if you type in caravan cover into Google you are going to get a few million results.
Trusting Google to give me a more local flavour of search I had a look through a few sites to see what was about and the difference between the covers too.
There obviously is price differences on the covers, but pretty much, like everything else, you get what you pay for.
So, onto Buying a Camper Trailer Cover
After looking through many different covers I settled on trying to find an ADCO Caravan Cover at a good price, and also a reasonable delivery / postage price too.
The reason was simple in regard to choosing an ADCO cover.
Here are some key points on why I choose an ADCO over the other covers around.
- Covers designed for high sun exposure, high moisture, snow or long term storage
- The most durable all climate designed caravan cover on the market
- Four layer Dupont Tyvek RV®top panel beads water on contact
- High performance polypropylene side panels
- Completely breathable
- Superior U.V stability effectively blocks 99.8% of suns damaging
- UV rays that fade interior and exterior surfaces
- Front and rear cinching system for loose fabric
- Extra re enforcements on top and bottom of all 4 corners helps against sharp edges and reduces wear
- Attached straps and buckles prevent cover blowing off with wind
- Storage bag included
- Air vents prevent mould and mildew
- 3 year manufacturer’s warranty
As you can see the ADCO Caravan Cover range ticks all the boxes for me, and for you if you are keeping your caravan, or camper trailer outside.
ADCO is an American company and have produced 20 million plus covers since 1955 for peoples caravans, cars, motorcycles, ATV’s, horse trailers, trucks, and also custom covers for pretty anything you could think of.
So they know their stuff in regard to caravan covers.
Now finding a supplier of ADCO covers at the best price in Australia was my next challenge.
The right cover for my Hawk Camper Trailer is the 12ft-14ft (3.67m – 4.28m) size.
The ADCO Camper Trailer covers also come in 10ft-12ft (3.06m – 3.67m), and the 14ft – 16ft (4.28m – 4.89m) sizes.
These sizes cover all of the Jayco Camper Trailer range.
There are quite a few suppliers online for these caravan covers, some have contact details, some don’t except for a 1300 phone number.
I’m not a big fan of no physical address, no real contact details, and no stock when buying online so I was hunting for a local supplier in Queensland to get the cover quickly, and also to save on postage too.
After quite a few searches I found a company on the Sunshine Coast (Forest Glen) that had the camper trailer cover I wanted, at a great price and also free postage in Queensland.
I rung them, left a message, got a call back soon after and I ordered over the phone.
Pleasant phone conversation and very helpful.
It was at this point I was told it would be free shipping in Queensland for my cover too.
So not only a great price on the ADCO, but also free shipping, awesome!
So I gave my cc details, shipping address, an then it was time to wait.
I ordered pretty close to the weekend so I knew it would be touch and go whether the camper trailer cover would turn up that quickly.
And also for more “Off the Beaten Track” areas the couriers only visit once a week for drop offs, so I wasn’t worried.
You get the choice of signature on delivery or a leave at the door option.
As I am home most of the times these days I went for the leave at the door option.
On the Friday I had a missed call from the company, just checking if the cover had turned up as yet.
As it hadn’t they were going to track n trace and let me know an arrival time.
In the meantime early in the week the camper trailer cover arrived.
They also followed up on that day to check it had arrived and if I was happy too.
The ADCO camper trailer cover is perfect so far.
It does everything they said it would do and it is easy to put on and buckle up too.
So the great camper trailer cover combined with great service, and competitive pricing was a win/win for me.
After this experience I’d be happy to recommend this Queensland business to anyone that wants to buy a caravan cover at a good price, and also if you live in Queensland, free shipping too.
