If you are looking for things to do in Brisbane that don’t cost money except for making your lunch and hanging out, the Balmoral Lookout Montville which is just out of Montville is a good place to take a drive and have a picnic to get rid of a few hours in the day.

The Balmoral Lookout Montville is located on the Maleny-Montville road and is easy to find, it is about 7km South of Montville.
We went there for a drive and a picnic lunch, with a bit of a walk around after as the view is great with the cool mountain air blowing while looking across to the Sunshine Coast across the valleys.
There are a few choices if it isn’t too busy to sit down, there is a fully roofed picnic area with two tables in it and also outside of this there are picnic tables too.
