Laundry Renovations, renovation finished and completed on time

Written by Troy Spro

The laundry renovations have finished, completed on time and with only a few hiccups, not from the tradesmen side in the laundry, more from my side, more on this later.

So here are the first pictures of the renovated laundry / wash house.

As you will see from the pictures of the laundry before which are here “Before Renovation Pictures“, there is a massive difference after the laundry renovations and we are very happy about the outcome.

What we had done if you are looking from the door at the back wall, is cupboards and shelves along the top, one block of shelving and two cupboards, there is bench space on one side, the two tubs went down into one tub with a single tap setup instead of the wall mounted one and the dryer is now on the ground on the left instead of being mounted in the air on the back wall.

This part of the laundry renovation tidied up that whole section and also allowed the room to put a wall of storage in on the back wall rather than the one shelf that was sitting above the tubs (Which was around 17mm out in being level with the floor, so it had a permanent tilt) and the dryer that was there, so great space utilization and also adding storage to the laundry / wash house area.

To the side you will see the high doors, these almost go up to the ceiling, behind these are different size shelves and storage spaces which include the high cupboards for the ironing board and also a great spot for the vacuum cleaner too, so again an amazing amount of storage and after we have started to put stuff back into these cupboards there is too much room, so lots of spaces for now.

And on the side under the window is a proper bench top now with five draws underneath, this replaced the camping table which did serve its purpose, and the two bigger draws on this side have built in washing baskets in them, one for normal and one for towels.

Then there is the three draws down the side.

You may ask me why there is no appliances in these pictures of the laundry renovations, it is a bit of a long story and I will be writing about it in due time, let’s just say I couldn’t put the washing machine back into the laundry straight away due to a couple of minor technical faults after I dropped it moving it out, it wasn’t much of a knock, but enough to break a part and give me grief for a few days, I now know my washing machine inside and out.

Anyway, we are very happy with the laundry renovations, I’ll put a few more pictures up with the appliances installed in the coming weeks.

You can see who we used during the renovations on my Renovation Companies and Trades page.
