NRL Trophy at the Cowboys Leagues Club

Written by Troy Spro

This was our last night on our Outback Queensland Road Trip and we are visiting the Cowboys Leagues Club.

The main point of visiting the club is to see the NRL Trophy because my wife is a mad fan of the Cowboys.

Also we took the whole family to the Grand Final, so it is pretty special seeing the trophy close up after the experience at ANZ Stadium the night.

Oh, we will be eating too!

The Cowboys Leagues Club is easy enough to find in the middle of Townsville and tonight there were plenty of car parks available.

You can go through the main entrance or through the back entrance as well and it has your typical big league club layout.

The food was good and pretty big portion wise as well.

We waited until we finished eating and then it was onto the main course, heading out to the Cowboys Leagues Club main entrance and seeing the trophy.

We were very surprised about the setup leading down to where the NRL Trophy was on display.

As you will see if you hit play on the video below I have for you, there is more than one trophy on display.

The slow ramp takes you down to the entrance, reception, and the Cowboys Leagues Club shop.

On the walls is the history of the Cowboys club right from the beginning right through until now.

And as you walk through this history you pass the World Club Challenge Cup and finally make it through to the NRL Trophy.

For a passionate Cowboys supporter like my wife, this was a once in a lifetime feeling.

First visit to the Cowboys Leagues Club, first premiership and seeing the NRL Trophy on display here too after being at the NRL Grand Final.

It doesn’t get much better than this for a fan.

Now if only the Warriors can pull a premiership out of the bag in the coming years I’d be happy!

So after looking around the shop for a while we headed back to the caravan park.

Ready for sleep and ready for the last pack up of the Jayco before we head off home.
