Anti-Theft Travel Bags, do you need to buy one to travel overseas?

Written by Troy Spro

Are you thinking about buying a few Anti-Theft Travel Bags before you leave for your next overseas adventure?

Well I did, now we have a few that we bought before we left.

We had decided where we were travelling to and had started the research on our trip.

Like many of the destinations we travel to you look at the possible dangers that can happen and this trip was no different.

The standard ones popped up like “Be aware of your belongings as there are pick pockets and bag slashers everywhere”, “Your bag will be ripped off your back crossing the road by people on motorbikes”, “They skim all of your Credit Card and Passport details just by brushing up against you on the bus” and more.

Of course after reading this you have to watch the Youtube videos of this happening and it makes you more paranoid about it whether it happens to you or not.

So I was on a mission after this to find a few solutions that would deter and make us less likely targets.

I stumbled across a few articles about Anti-Theft Travel Bags and then I started to Google the different brands and types.

There certainly are many different types and brands.

So read on to learn more about the benefits and features of getting yourself a Anti-Theft Travel Bag.

Anti-Theft Travel Bags Pacsafe Slashproof RFID Protected Metrosafe Shoulder Bag

This is one of the Anti-Theft Travel Bags I bought before our latest trip

Why do you need one?

Anti-Theft Travel Bags are great for many reasons.

Especially with the selection that is available to choose from currently in shops.

They come in many different sizes and all have their different features that set them apart from the others.

For me it has been piece of mind that it has multi layers of protection to cover different situations that may or may not arise while travelling.

I ended up choosing the pacsafe brand of Anti-Theft Travel Bags.

They just appealed to me more.

They had plenty of features and they weren’t too hard to find where to buy one either.

Key Security Features

Here is a list of some of the key features you will find in the different Anti-Theft Travel Bags.

These are mainly the features of the pacsafe one I bought.

Each of the different types of pacsafe Anti-Theft Travel Bags have different features.

Here are the 6 Security Features for you;

  • RFIDsafe Blocking Pocket – Blocks information being stolen from your Wallet/ Passport
  • Smart Zipper Security – Zips can be locked, clipped or hidden easily
  • Turn / Lock Security Hooks – These stop the strap from being unhooked easily
  • eXomesh Slash and Cut Protection – No cutting through to the goodies in your bag
  • Carrysafe Slash and Cut Protected Straps – Stainless Steel wire in straps
  • Lockabout Security Clips – Zips can be locked, clipped or hidden easily

Here are the extra features of the pacsafe Metrosafe LS200 Anti-Theft Shoulder Bag that I bought (pictured above).

  • Zippered main compartment with padding for iPad, Tablet or Mini Computer
  • Velcro fastened front flap
  • Rear Zippered Compartment (great for holding a phrasebook)
  • Side pockets
  • Adjustable shoulder strap
  • Pen holder
  • Key or Wallet D ring
  • Plenty of compartments to store Wallet, Passports etc
  • All zips can be locked or clipped and some are hidden too
  • Appears to be rain and sweat proof so far

There are so many features and benefits of using the pacsafe Anti-Theft Travel Bags.

I do like to fully utilise the compartments for different things when heading out for the day too and it can even hold a small water bottle.

Where can you buy Anti-Theft Travel Bags?

It wasn’t too hard to find suppliers online with shops I could visit to look at the some of the pacsafe range of bags, but most didn’t have too much stock.

I ended up finding one relatively close to where we were staying so I could look at them before buying.

When you are buying a product online (especially a purchase like Anti-Theft Travel Bags), you want to touch, feel it, see how it sits and have a look at all of the features.

Well I do, it’s an investment right?

So after having a look at quite a few different brands and also a few of the different models in the pacsafe range, I settled for the one above.

This is the Metrosafe LS200 Anti-Theft Shoulder Bag.

I also bought the Citysafe CS50 Anti-Theft Cross Body Purse for my wife to use for work.

So after purchasing a few pacsafe items, looking at many of their range in the shop and now using them for a long time, I can honestly say they are a fantastic product and well worth the money.

Their range is large too, pacsafe produce Anti-Theft Backpacks, Camera Bags and Straps, Luggage, Wallets, Passport Protectors, Bum Bags, Purses, Pouches, Totes, Straps, Camera Bags, Camera Straps, Combination Locks, Luggage Locks, Cable Locks, Slings, Hip Packs, Portable Safes, Gear Bags, Wheeled Gear Bags, Duffel Bags and more.

The next item I would buy would be one of their Anti-Theft Laptop Backpacks if I was going to get anything.

So if you are travelling to a place where you may need a bit more security.

Make sure to check out the pacsafe range before you leave, you won’t be disappointed!
