The next instalment of Costco construction photo updates

Written by Troy Spro

I’ve been back to have a look at the Costco construction again for the week early this morning, the good thing is I haven’t been asked to stop taking pictures from any of the tradesmen around so far.

So Brisbane’s first Costco is starting to take shape more and more and I can see the differences quite clearly now as this is my third lot of pictures.

There is a lot of flattening out of dirt and earth moving happening still and like I said the hive of activity outside of Costco Brisbane was certainly a lot more than when I was there a week ago.

Of note and also importantly for me is the new sign on the fence about the Costco Brisbane Memberships and also the Costco jobs that are on offer here in Brisbane.

The sign says it all, if you want membership to the first Brisbane Costco go here, if you want to a job in Brisbane’s first Costco, go here.

The temporary Costco North Lakes Office is at 13 Discovery Drive which is down the other end of North Lakes by the Shopping Centre, so guess where I’ll be heading at some point in the coming weeks, I’ll be taking pictures and writing about this little adventure too.

I’m not sure of the amount of people that get employed in a standard Costco operation but I’d say it would have to be a fair few, I have seen 400 or so bandied around on websites and so this maybe close.

Above is the latest picture of the petrol station part of the construction site, again, lots of earth moved around from this part of the site.

Lastly was the aerial shots of Costco Brisbane that I had been hoping to get for quite a few weeks, there weren’t any problems parking there this time so I took a side view picture of the site, a tree as you can see is blocking the petrol station view for me but you can get a better idea of how big this Brisbane Costco at North Lakes is.

The site is pretty big and I’d say it would have to be to fit the car parking of all the Costco employees and also all the people that will shopping too and if the petrol prices are cheaper at Costco I’m sure the line up through there will be huge as well.

Anyway, it’s taking shape more and more, so keep an eye out for my next Costco Brisbane update or just make my site a favourite and check back when you can, see you next week!
