Costco North Lakes opening pictures 2

Written by Troy Spro

As I said I went down to the Costco North Lakes opening and have already posted up the first lot of pictures here.

The experience as I have told other people during the day was pretty overwhelming in a good way and I’ll explain.

I am the type of person that likes to walk into a museum or fun park and have to do everything there or see everything and it pains me if I don’t get to do this.

When you walk into Costco for the first time you don’t know where to go or where to look as there is just so much there in every different category, add onto this the different sizes, different packs, different brands and you have a recipe for getting lost in the whole experience for many hours at a time.

Also this would explain why, in my view, why Costco doesn’t have a full retail website selling their wares, it would be massive and a behemoth to maintain and also probably wouldn’t do the brand justice in regards to the feeling when you first walk in, look around and say to yourself, wow…. this place is huge.

Above is the sea food cool storage with prawns etc chilling on ice ready for pick up.

I’m not a seafood fan so i didn’t really pay much attention to this area at all but it looked ok and I’m sure it would be, it’s Costco isn’t it?

This picture is down the back part of the building and as you can see it is where the bakery, meat, rotisserie and deli part of Costco is, if you like food you will be stuck here for a while checking it all out.

I have to tell you, if you are dieting or on a health kick, don’t hang out in the bakery section for too long.

The cakes are huge and call out to you like a bar of chocolate in the fridge just before bed.

This whole section of Costco is pretty big with plenty of variety.

Also I have noted what a lot of people think that you have to buy a large amount of anything to save $ at Costco, the amount you have to purchase varies from section to section and really the bigger buys aren’t that big so you won’t be buying a lifetime of a product at all.

I can see families buddy buying here and splitting the bills to save a few bucks over the period of the year.

Down in the deli section too was something I haven’t seen before, if you are catering for work or putting on a lunch or similar they have packs of wraps etc cut and ready to go in packs, these could be used to buy your weeks lunches with no preparation too.

This picture above is the freezers just past the deli section looking across to the other side of the building where the big freezers are.

I have about another five or six pictures of Costco North Lakes opening to put up here, if I have enough time today I’ll put them up, if not keep checking back and you will see more over the coming days.

If you aren’t up to anything over the weekend, head on down if you haven’t already as I have said, it is certainly an experience.

I have told the Hugs n Kisses to get down there, but told her to make sure she sets herself plenty of time, don’t take all of the squids either as you will want to be taking it all in finding what we use currently in our house, doing the math for savings, figuring out if we need that much volume of one product and then buying it as I’m sure lots of others are doing.
