Originals Barber Shop is by far Greenslopes Best Barber!

Written by Troy Spro

The Originals Barber Shop in Greenslopes here in Brisbane has only been open for a short while but that doesn’t mean the guys taming your mane have only been around for a little while.

Originals Barber Shop was my next stop on my Barber Shop Bucket List.

I had run into the owner of Originals a few times before in another Barber shop and also had heard that he was heading off to open a shop himself and it just took a little while before I got to the shop to get a cut and a beard trim.

When you arrive at Originals Barber Shop there is plenty of parking off street at the back.

Just head up the back stairs and in to back of the shop, easy, you can also wander in from the front too if you are just walking in.

There was only one barber on originally and now since I have been venturing down to Greenslopes there are three barbers on most days.

One of the first things you notice about this shop is where you sit in relation to the barber.

You hop up onto the chair and the barber stands and cuts behind you rather than in front of you.

Now this is hard to explain but once you see or get what I am talking about it makes a lot of sense not only for your experience at the shop but for the barbers ability to cut your hair easily too.

In the standard shop you sit facing the mirror with your legs pointing towards the mirror.

In Originals Barber Shop you face away from the closest wall mirror and there are mirrors on the opposite wall for you to see yourself and keep an eye on everything.

The barber stands behind you and moves the chair from side to side as needed.

This means you aren’t constantly looking at yourself closely and analyzing your cut or how you have aged since the last cut, and in the case of Originals Barber Shop, you can watch sports or movies that are on the TV screens around the shop.

I have been in now for about 3 cuts and beard trims and haven’t been disappointed yet, the wait time isn’t long and the hair cuts are top quality form all the barbers there.

On my first visit the owner Mickey cut my hair, talking to him about the shop it is easy to see that quality over quantity is one of the main mottos that they adhere to, so no churn and burn in this establishment.

I’d have no problem recommending Originals Barber Shop to anyone wanting a great cut and a great barber experience too.

It is one of those places that you feel you could just go back to the rest of your life and get your haircut and beard trimmed and be happy.

They have walk ins and also bookings, so ring and book if you want your favourite barber to give you a classic cut.

Cash only at the moment too, there is a ATM close by if needed, and make sure you have a little more spare for beard oils or pomade as well.

Go and check them out if you are on the Southside of Brisbane.
