This question of car park for games at Suncorp Stadium comes up every now and then for us as a family, I/we have been going to sporting events at Suncorp Stadium (Lang Park) for a long time now.
It is always been ok to find a car park in the Brisbane City area even when going to watch International Tests for Rugby League or Rugby Union, State of Origin, Super Rugby, Rugby League World Cup Games, Rugby League World Cup Finals or, as we are going to see tonight, the Broncos playing the Bulldogs in NRL Rugby League.
I used to have what I called a secret car park just off Herschel Street off North Quay which cost me five dollars to park for the night.
If you got there a little early, which was the best time to soak in the atmosphere there were plenty of car parks and like I have said, very affordable and cheap for inner city evening parking.
That place soon was to go and become a building with no car parks at all available unless you got onto their roof.
So an alternative game car park was needed to be found.
Car Parking for Suncorp Stadium (Lang Park)
It also had to be within walking distance to either the bus pickups for the games or if running late walking distance to the stadium.
So there are two alternatives I use now, so depending on who is playing and also the time of arrival for us I choose either one or the other.
I might add here that both are easily accessible for us coming down from the North side of Brisbane too, so carry on reading and I’ve got both options for you below.
There is a car park in the Roma St Brisbane Transit Centre and also just down the road from this is another car park I used often whenever I had to travel to Brisbane CBD for work.
This is the King George Square Car Park, both are obviously car parks in Brisbane City area and also a pretty close walk to the stadium too.
So there are two great alternatives for you, the Roma St Brisbane Transit Centre and the King George Square Car Park.
So where did we park for this game?
I ended up parking in the Roma St Brisbane Transit Centre car park, I looked online and the rates in the evening looked alright and it was closer to the stadium too.
We got out onto the road and caught the bus up to the stadium.
A great night out too as we watched the NRL Rugby League game between the Broncos and the Bulldogs, also it was good to be there for the last game in Scott Prince’s career too as he hit 300 games this night.
Also I noted that compared to State of Origin, there was around 26 thousand people there, so not as many as you would expect for a State of Origin game or, say, a World Cup Final.
It certainly was a little less full and cramped going to and from the stadium to the car park compared to the above games.
Getting back to the car I went to the car park pay station and to my horror it was a 72 dollar parking bill for just over 3 hours.
I wondered why the car park was empty!
So what was a relatively cheap night out, just got a little more expensive due to car parking in the city.
My own fault though, I had miss read the website and also having a look the day after, I should of booked parking online as it would have been at least half of the cost.
Lesson learnt.
So, if you need to park in Brisbane City to go to the game at Suncorp Stadium make sure you book online when parking your car at the Roma St Brisbane Transit Centre car park or it will cost you a small fortune.
I think it would have been a little cheaper to go to the King George Square car park, but hind sight is always 20/20 in these situations.

I now have a favourite Car Park for Games at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane City.
I have parked the car there many, many times now for different games since the Broncos game above because its easy to get to and pretty cheap.
