I’ve been to plenty of games at Suncorp Stadium or Lang Park over the years and had to find a car park in the Brisbane CBD many a time, so I have checked out the car park I used last time which had the best pricing in the city to see if it is also the best State of Origin car park as well and from what I can tell, it is still the best rates in town for parking.
The reason for doing this is that most, not all of the car parking in Brisbane is cheaper only on the weekends and as the State of Origin games are mid week on a Wednesday this means the rules have changed for how much you pay.
So this morning Queenslanders everywhere will be waking up in anticipation for a game of Rugby League to kick off the State of Origin series, this game and series means more to most people than a whole season of Rugby League put together.
This car park is closer to the CBD but still close enough to Suncorp Stadium as well.
If you arrive at the car park from 4.30pm through to 6pm you will get charged a bit more but if you don’t want to roll in too early and are happy to walk through the crowds to game from the get go and save a bit on parking at the same time, after 6pm parking is the best for your pocket.
State of Origin doesn’t kick off until 8pm according to the ticket sites so if you get to a car park at 6pm you still have a few hours to soak up the atmosphere and also walk to the buses to get to the ground or take the pilgrimage walk to Suncorp Stadium through Caxton Street.
The car park has the ability to leave your car over night if needed if you partake in a few brown beverages over the course of the evening and get a lift home with someone else, or if you are staying in a Hotel in the CBD and they don’t have a car park you can put your car in here over night too.
The car park is locked at midnight on weekdays Monday through to Thursday, so if you are getting back slowly to your car and you don’t want to leave it there over night, keep an eye on the time.
So here below is my best car park for games at Suncorp Stadium and it is, in my view too, the best State of Origin car park as well.
