We had just finished our visit to the Miles Museum and the drive from Miles to Roma, now it was time to find a Motel in Roma for the night, or a few nights if needed.
Driving into Roma is one road in and two roads out, so if you stick to the main roads it is easy to find a place to stay.
It was getting late in the day, so we were looking for something that was pretty new, cost effective and also easy to find on the main road.
So as we drove into Roma we passed The Big Rig on the right and pretty much straight after that we found the Motel, which is part of the Best Western chain of Motels.
So it wasn’t really that hard to find a Motel in Roma driving in from Miles as this is pretty much the first Motel you pass.
So what was the name of the Motel in Roma?
Best Western Bungil Creek, affordable, clean, good service and central to all we wanted to do for the next day.
After booking in I mentioned that we hadn’t really planned what we were doing in the area as yet and was it ok to let them know if we were staying for two nights, which they replied “No worries”.
We did end up letting them know that we were staying for two nights.
After planning to see the tourist spots and historic sights around Roma we knew it would be a long day and probably not wise to take the drive back to Brisbane with the kids.
Here are the contact details for the Bungil Creek Motel for you if you want to pre book before you get there.

So after settling into the room it was now time to find something to eat for the weary travellers.
We had Fish and Chips the night before so it was time for a change, so we headed into town.
After driving around for a while we settled on the Golden Dragon Restaurant, which is a Chinese Food Restaurant in the middle of Roma.
It was hard to get a good photo of the front of the restaurant due to lighting etc and also the cars in front, so apologies for the quality of this one below.
The place is big as you can see, so plenty of room for us and our little monsters to eat.
The meal was good and again, as it has been for the whole trip out here, not too bad on price too.
The Golden Dragon Restaurant is on McDowall Street in the Roma town centre if you want to find it, 60 to 62 McDowall Street, Roma to be exact.
With full bellies and tired feet it was time for sleep as we had planned a big day for tomorrow.
We picked up the Roma Visitors Guide from the Dalby Information Centre at the start of our trip, which has all the main sights of Roma on it.
It has a full street map and all the historical places are listed with photos, so we just wrote a to-do list for the 4th day, all we had to do was drive, walk, and take photos, easy.
