As we started Day 2 of our trip out west of Brisbane our first stop for the day was to the Dalby Information Centre.
As I said on Day 1 we hadn’t really planned our road trip too much and we just knew the areas we wanted to see and a few key historic places that we knew were around.
Breakfast was the first mission and getting the kids ready for the day, then loaded the car up and buckled everybody in and drove the four blocks to the Dalby Information Centre.
This seemed like a bit of an anti climax only driving such a short distance to the information centre and announcing to the kids “We’re here! Now time to get out”.
The Dalby Information Centre had all the information we needed to plan our holiday in full.
So after grabbing all the brochures we could and taking a few pictures in front we went to sit in the car to plan this second day away.
We thought at this point to maximize our time we would just plan today and a rough outline of the next day.
So today was set.
- Drive to Jimbour to see and walk around the Jimbour Station / Jimbour House
- Off to Jindowae for lunch first and then look through the town taking in the heritage sites
- Drive out to the start of the Dingo Barrier Fence
- Back to Dalby for a walk and then dinner
So we packed the kids back into the car and said goodbye to Dalby for the day.
To get to Jimbour from Dalby you head north and the drive should take you about 25 minutes on State Route 82 on the Dalby – Jandowae Road.
Once in Jimbour you travel through the town a little and turn right on to Macalister – Bell Road.
You stay on this road for a short time and bear left onto Jimbour Station Road.
The drive out to Jimbour House from Jimbour should only take about 5 Minutes and after driving the road I’m sure you won’t encounter heavy traffic, traffic jams or roadblocks.
So we arrived at Jimbour Station, had some morning tea at the front entrance and got ready to start the day properly.
