Today I gave the rest of the gardens a good dosing of Charlie Carp organic fertiliser.
I had done the back garden and lawn yesterday and can still smell the fishy smell everywhere.
So I did the side of the house, the three front gardens and the lawns at the front too and it took about an hour to do.
I use the water tank water to do this as we have lots of taps connected to the tank and pump around the house, by the looks of the temperatures we have had during winter I’m going to need the water tanks for the garden during the spring summer months, this is unless it gets too hot and then we have scorching days and storms through the night like it used to be like when I first shifted over from New Zealand.
Charlie Carp is an organic garden and lawn fertiliser made here in Australia from European Carp as its fish source, its available at most hardware stores, I usually get my stash of it from Bunnings, I buy the concentrate as I use a hose spray bottle and mix it with water.
Charlie Carp provides macro and micro nutrients for your garden and also it contains natural oil which helps to deter garden pests too, which is a bonus especially if you have fruit trees around as I do, it helps them grow and also gives them a great natural organic protein source that they can utilise very quickly.
I spray it on pretty much evenly and also give the lawn a good dosing too as I have read not to lightly water lawns as you want the grass root to remain low in the soil.
The smell generally lasts for a few days, I haven’t had any complaints from the neighbours yet, which is a good thing, it still had to be done though, fertilising with Charlie Carp isn’t about the neighbours, it’s about the lawn and the plants.
