Now this is the first time I am using the Apple iMac we purchased a few weeks ago here in Brisbane to write with.
I have to say as a newbie to the Apple realm it certainly is a steep learning curve to see where everything goes and how to find anything.
For a start and through the transition we have purchased Office so we can transfer files over with ease and also use them straight away as well.
We purchased office for Mac also too because most of the people we deal with day to day and also at work run Windows with Office.
I’m sure it will get easier and easier and I’ll enjoy the transition and also the capabilities of using Apple and the iMac too.
On the PC I also ran CS4 Photoshop and also when dabbling with music I edited lots of midi files (Originally with Cakewalk), so I am also looking forward to exploring music, video and art with the Apple setup as well.
One of the hardest things I have found so far is getting used to looking up to the top left of the monitor for the menu items for what you have open.
Next on the list is using the mouse, having come from a rolling wheel type on top of the mouse on the PC and discovering that the Mac mouse has a touch pad type setup on top of it is an awesome feature.
After that will be the slow transition out of using the PC all the time because I am comfortable with it to using the Apple iMac all the time for everything.
I’m not to sure how long it will take but I’m sure I will have to learn many shortcuts and also have many hair pulling out incidents where I will want to put my thumb in my mouth, crawl into the corner and cry.
So onward and upward, long live the Apple iMac, now, how do I copy this to put into my site?
