We went out for an afternoon to one of our secret picnic places in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and then stopped to have a look at the shops at Montville.
While looking around we found this place in Montville at the bottom of Main Street called The Chapel.
From as soon as you spot The Chapel through the trees you are drawn to it.
It just has such a warmth and a feeling of something special.
Completed in 2014 after over 9 months of construction, the temporary fencing still remains around the area and I found out after that the stonemason was the man on the door when we were there, no wonder he knew so much about the building and its construction.
After reading a few articles you can see why this man Antoni Roki is so passionate about this sandstone chapel too.
Right down to the last stone of the 2oo square metres of helidon sandstone used in the construction of the building has significance.
So much so that when the last stone was put into its place there was a ceremony to complete the construction.
The walls are 35cm thick helidon sandstone, copper is used as the roof, bluestone was used for the stairs, the floor is Iranian white onyx, and the windows are leadlight finished.
As you can see this place would have to be one of the top wedding venues in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland region.
When finished it will be able to handle your wedding and also the reception for 100 guests too.
From reading about booking The Chapel for your wedding it has all the normal wedding package options to choose from.
With the views around the area, coupled with The Chapel, you will, no doubt, end up with some award winning wedding photography shots too if you got married here.
Also if you did need to go away for wedding photos, the surrounding Montville area has many favourite places for photographers in and around it.
We got married just down the road from Montville too and spent an hour or so away from the venue getting some wedding photos that were just amazing.
I will certainly be heading back to The Chapel there if I can to take a few more arty type photos of the sandstone / bluestone and the windows.
The only problem now is that this might be the only opportunity to see The Chapel up close, as when the area is completed and ready for use as a wedding venue there may be no opportunity to take photos at all, unless you are with the wedding group.
I’m sure that anyone who uses this Montville wedding venue will have an amazing time.
Also, not to be forgotten the owner, the builder, the stonemason, and the workers who had the vision and built The Chapel, I wonder what their next project will be as I’m sure a house made with this much passion and attention to detail will also be an amazing thing.
I can only dream of hiring these guys to build a house with the same views to the coast, made out of similar materials on a few acres up there in Montville.
We can all dream can’t we?
