Rowes Bay Beachfront Holiday Park is our last stop for our Outback Queensland Road Trip.

Today I’m packing up the Jayco for the second to last time before we drive to Rowes Bay Beachfront Holiday Park.

The Rowes Bay Beachfront Holiday Park used to be called the Rowes Bay Caravan Park until a little while ago and this caravan park is situated on one of the beaches in Townsville.

So a big day of driving is in store with a few stops on the way as per usual.

After packing the camper trailer up and saying goodbye to Hughenden Caravan Park we decided to spend a little bit of time in Hughenden before hitting the road.

Hughenden is a nice little town to do a walk down the main street.

You can park your caravan or camper trailer pretty easily on the main road too.

Hughenden Caravan Park is the next stop on our travels

Hughenden Caravan Park is the destination for us today on our Outback Queensland Road Trip as it is a scheduled travel day.

It is also known as the Hughenden Allen Terry Caravan Park as well named after a local councillor.

There is a story behind this name and the way it is spelt too, you can read more about here if you want to, “Allen or Alan?”

It’s a standard pack up this morning for our Jayco Hawk.

Get the kids doing something else while we clean, fold up, stack, drop the roof, attach to the tow ball and check out.

My friends at Google Maps tell me the trip today will take 5 hours and 42 minutes.

We all know it will take longer to drive than this, and so we plan for it.

You have to allow for towing and kids in these trips, we were expecting a long day!

So we said our goodbyes to Mount Isa and set off for Hughenden.
