In the first month of being in Saigon / Ho Chi Minh we started to explore, this meant a visit to the Saigon Post Office.

The post office is called many different names by the locals, visitors and also by all the websites have information on it.

Here are a few variations for you.

• Saigon Post Office
• Saigon Central Post Office
• Ho Chi Minh City Post Office
• Ho Chi Minh Central Post Office
• Central Post Office

But pretty much if you type into Google Maps any variation of the above while you are in Ho Chi Minh City you will get directions to the post office.

We walked to the Saigon Post Office for the first time after visiting The Independence Palace.

Walking from the palace you first spot the Saigon Notre Dame Basilica Cathedral and then around the corner from this is the Saigon Post Office.

This building is an important part of Ho Chi Minh’s history as it has been around since the late 1800’s.

How can you travel to Ho Chi Minh and not go and see the War Remnants Museum?

It is ranked up there in the top places to visit when you are in Ho Chi Minh and it was second on our list of things to see after The Independence Palace.

As we have children we always plan to get to the places we visit in the afternoon.

This is because it is hard to organise them so we can maximise our times at the places we see.

So we headed into the city by bus with the same plan as last time, getting to the museum for the afternoon session.
