We went to the Cottonwood walk in Deception Bay on a sunny afternoon, not there for a picnic, more so just to get out in the open air and take the kids out.
To most the deception in Deception Bay is that not many people go there or want to explore what the area has to offer.
What I have to say about the Cottonwood Walk is that it was great, a well kept walk with plenty to look at and also plenty to climb on and chase for the kids.
The walk track is situated along the Esplanade at Deception Bay and depending on how much time you have and how far you want to walk there are plenty of options as the track is around one and a half kilometre’s long.
There were plenty of birds too and there are Pelicans which the kids could get up and close to too.
Along the track along there is all the necessities you need for a day out or an afternoon, the 1.5km walk and bike path, timber boardwalks, viewing platforms along the walk, barbecues and picnic facilities stagger the path.
So get out there and explore your backyard if you are a Brisbane resident, if you’re a visitor, take a blanket and a book and relax and waste a few hours taking in the serenity.
