I’ve been away for work up in North Queensland and so I didn’t get to take my picture’s last week of the Costco construction, so here is my latest Costco Brisbane update.
There has been a bit more rain around in the last weeks from the end of February and in the first two weeks of March, but none the less the construction of Brisbane’s first Costco here at North Lakes still rolls on.
As you can see from these pictures the changes are still quite subtle from the last one’s, the buildings haven’t changed too much, I’m seeing changes mainly in the earthworks and landscaping currently with the base getting ready for pouring bitumen I’d say in the coming month or so.
There is still lots and lots of workers around too as their cars line the streets and there is also continuous flow of trucks onto the site when I have been there as well.
It was a bit of an overcast day on the day I took these pictures and as you can see there is plenty of cloud cover around.
Another interesting thing is that fact the petrol station is called Costco Gasoline which is very American, it will be unsual I’d say to here an Australian saying I’m just heading down to Costco to get some Gasoline love.
On another note too, I’ll have to see if you need your membership card and need to be a member of Costco to be able to purchase petrol from Costco, I can’t remember reading it anywhere as yet.
I’d say just to drag the people into the place it would have to run just as a normal petrol station and his will give Costco the ability to market easily to anyone that may not shop there to start learning about Costco and start to shop there after buying their petrol.
In the below picture there is another new container sign that wasn’t there when I was here last time.
“Costco Wholesale Opening Soon” can’t be missed when your coming out of the Bunnings car park across the road.
I’d say with a few months to go until opening the media, advertising and letter box drops will certainly be starting sooner than later.
Lastly is the distance pictures of the new Brisbane Costco, here you can certainly see the land has been leveled ready for rolling and the the preparation for bitumen for the car park.
I’d say there would be an abundance of trades inside the building finishing off all the lighting and offices etc etc, then comes the commissioning too thereafter.
On the other side of the building too that I see when travelling North down the highway, which you can’t see from these pictures, thee is water tanks and also the air conditioning units I think.
The Brisbane Costco certainly stands out whether you are travelling from the North or coming up from the South too, there isn’t much tree cover and concealment happening and so the building stands out as well as the signage and branding too, so they have picked a great site for exposure for Brisbane’s and Queensland’s first Costco.
So there you have the latest Brisbane Costco update at North Lakes.
As I have been away and playing catch up work wise I still haven’t gone and got my membership as yet but will be doing that in the coming weeks, very exciting indeed.
